Lamborghini’s Egoitsa is a concept car that seems to proves that Iron Man is pretty popular in Italy. a The cockpit is designed like a Tony Stark-esque ‘suit’ for the driver, featuring a removable section. The steering wheel unit must be detcahed to allow access to the cockpit – which, naturally, can be ejected in an emergency. ‘[It] represents a sort of survival cell, allowing the driver to isolate and protect themselves from external elements’, explains a Lamborghini honcho.Influenced by military helicopter design and characterized by ‘futuristic dynamism [and] highly aggressive lines’, the one-off car uses ‘anti-radar’ materials in the body and wheels. The ultralight car utilizes dynamic rear flaps which activate automatically at high speeds to increase stability, and has a 10 cylinder engine. With more than a passing resemblance to Speed Racer’s Mach 5, the Egoista is pure egotism, and is designed to ‘always remain a dream, for everyone’.
